Immaculate Conception School is accredited by the Middle States Association due to its intense commitment to education and standards. The academic goal of Immaculate Conception School is to develop well-rounded individuals. This is done through the special attention given to each child's learning needs, and a curriculum that grows with the student. The highest priority is ensuring that a child is learning, and every available resource is used accordingly from early development onwards. Computers are made available in the classroom at all age levels, to promote intimate understanding of the technology that is shaping our times. Hands-on projects produce a strong sense of involvement in ones own learning process. The intellectual development is tempered by the nurturing of creativity through our arts and music programs. A dedicated after school program ensures that all children have somewhere to go when the final bell rings, and parental involvement is welcome. There is a motto in place that parents are regarded as the first teachers, and this motto is embodied by our active Parent's Association.
The added benefit that Immaculate Conception School is able to provide is character development. The school prides itself on its Catholic duty to not only instill a strong sense of faith, but also to build the sturdy ethical foundations that are so valuable in society. Honesty, justice, and good works are all values that Immaculate Conception School students take to heart. Children are taught to understand authority: why it is necessary, and what can be gained from cooperation. When students leave they have a deep understanding of the purpose of rules, and they are more comfortable with authority figures. The spiritual growth that accomplishes the character building is something quite special. This includes activities such as hosting the elderly at special events and other good works, as well as sacramental training for those in the Catholic faith. Reflection and discussion accompany the spiritual aspect of learning, and the students are involved and inspired through these processes.
